Craftsman 917.2722247 stopped moving

Runs ok including the deck but just stopped moving. Groans when pushing on drive pedals.
The belts and pulleys look OK. The rod on the back is inward.

See page 31 in Operators Manual, loss of drive.
Looks like your lawn tractor is 2002 year Model, see last page in Operators Manual. Remove deck & idler pulleys for drive belt & topside of deck. Idler pulleys have bearings that do wear out, try spinning pulleys by hand, any drag, noise, wobbling, etc. If pulleys are worn out or locked up belt will slip or not move at all. According to that info it might be a belt, but a new oem drive has only had 1 seasons use. Thing is it was doing OK, then just quit so doubtful.

Also make sure the brake caliper is not hung in braking position.

After cleaning the brake it was moving again. Thanks for the suggestions.
