I went to install one of those "Pivot Trim" heads on my newer Craftsman 25cc Weedwacker Grass Line Trimmer Model 316711021 but got a little stuck and hope someone can help.
Got the cap off the trimmer head assembly but found what I think is called a "push nut" underneath. I've never encountered one before, didn't know how to get it off the shaft and didn't want to break anything. Put one of those "Pivot Trim" heads on my older Craftsman 23cc without a bit of trouble but I'm a little stuck here. Can anybody offer some advice???
I would suggest a search on YouTube or the manufacturer's website for instructions.

The only way I have been able to get them off is to break them off. I use a metal pick to pick them up high enough to get wire cutters on it. Then cut pull twist till it breaks and comes off.
Replacement part number 791-610661. 3.99 at Sears parts direct.
Pick under one leaf and pull then repeat left right front back little bit at a time.
You will need to replace it with a new one because they usually work loose when you try to reuse them
Tap it on with a socket.
Down side is yu will have to buy a packet of 25 or so to get one so if yu have a Ma & Pa type mower repair shop, pop in there .
Most times I give them out for free, it is called good PR as they cost about 5¢ each
