Why the heck does Craftsman include the 'hook' shaped corner at the front-left area of the deck? My dad's 42" Craftsman of a few years ago has it, too, and he says it catches on things all the time, and is very irritating. Otherwise this tractor rates highly and was about ready to pull the trigger on one. What say you?

Nobody has a response? Just wondering if there's some structural or other reason for that corner ... the one that other brands don't seem to have.

The corner will add a fair bit of rigidity but as it has a big hole in it I woud assume it was there for the robots to handle the deck at the factory.

A good blow torch would take care of that in seconds... Seems useless to me.
