Yes, I exp this on GT3000. After swapping out a PTO switch from another mower that used the same switch. No longer cuts off when pulling on that PTO switch.

My GT3000 is 917.275031, 23hp vtwin Kohler command pro. My cuts off when getting off the seat with the blades off also.

those are the 2 things I thought of when i read the post! but you can bypass the seat switch by un bolting the seat nuts and taking the little metal sleeves off of them. that will just eliminate the whole seat switch thing. i have it disengaged on both of my mowers.

Just how can anyone guess what switch is bad. Before I would just start changing switches I would test them first. I find that a electrical problem takes tracing a circuit and testing till the problem is found. How can anyone tell if a switch is bad by just looking at it unless its all burned up just maybe.

If its got the magnum engine its a older tractor. So you are thinking it isn't a electrical problem but a fuel problem? I find that if its electrical the engine will just quit running and mechanical it will lose power. The carburetor on that engine has three adjustments low and high speed, and idle. First adjustment is turn both needle adjusters all the way in till they are just seated not tight. turn them both out a turn and a haft. start the engine and let warm up. start with the low speed first. let engine idle and slowly turn in the slow speed needle till it starts to run bad then turn it out till it smooth's out. Now put the engine at wide open throttle and do the same thing with the high speed needle. The idle adjustment just adjust the linkage for a good idle speed.

thanks I will do that ,theres a big and small screw witch is hign and witch is low, the big one is close to the intake manifold and small one just above fuel float housing ,p/s if it is electrical can the blade clutch be locking up and stalling engine

Try choking the engine halfway when engaging the blades, the carb may be running lean.

Remove the belt to the deck and try it too, also check the pulleys and spindles.

And put up your tractor's model numbers....

Next, unplug the kill wire going to the coil, and see what happens. You will have to yank the plugs or choke it to shut it back off.

So it was a bad connection at the seat switch? And it is now fixed?

I'll look at some kohler stuff about the carb and get back to you.
