If its got the magnum engine its a older tractor. So you are thinking it isn't a electrical problem but a fuel problem? I find that if its electrical the engine will just quit running and mechanical it will lose power. The carburetor on that engine has three adjustments low and high speed, and idle. First adjustment is turn both needle adjusters all the way in till they are just seated not tight. turn them both out a turn and a haft. start the engine and let warm up. start with the low speed first. let engine idle and slowly turn in the slow speed needle till it starts to run bad then turn it out till it smooth's out. Now put the engine at wide open throttle and do the same thing with the high speed needle. The idle adjustment just adjust the linkage for a good idle speed.
