Hi
countax c300 contra rotating deck.

www.gardentractorspares.co.uk
issue is a total lack of draw or suction, to pull the grass up, so that it cuts evenly across the width. The blades definitely rotate the correct way, the clippings eject to the rear as you would expect, yet there is a slight Mohawk between rows/stripes where the grass is almost blown out sideways as it leans away from the blades. Brand new correct blades all sharp defo not bent. The deck is flat not bent or dished. It is level to with 1-2mm left to right and front to bavk
Manoeuvre the deck to some long grass then turn the blades on, rock for and aft as the cut foot print expands you can see the surrounding grass being blown away from the deck, rather than drawn in as you might expect.
my previous Westwood (same factory different name) t1250 twin blade deck had good draw on the grass. If the deck was low you could feel the engine bog down over moss as it sucked down in the lawn, not this one.
There is a notable slot at the front, that the old Westwood deck did not have giving a complete seal from the skirt all the way round. I’m wondering if I block that slot on the countax deck to give the same skirt all round (except at the back for ejection) will it give more draw?
I seem to remember reading that was the case, but I can’t find it again and there does not appear to be an official part to bolt on to block the slot.
