Iam currently having problem with a john deere 1445 4wd mower, the cooling fan will not turn on leading the motor to over heat, i cant figure out what it is i would appreciate any kind of help that will lead me to fix the issue... thank you
I am not familiar with your tractor, but a sensor of some sort turns on your fan when a set temperture is reached. On cars this is a resistor built into a screw in module. If your engine is air cooled I would guess it is a "snap" switch bolted on the head (guessing here). Consult a schematic for your model. The switch usually provides a ground connection so the fan can turn on.

I believe your temp sensor is on the thermostat housing... check that it is connected, you can short that wire to ground, with the key switch On, to see if the fan will run.
Start at the fan wiring and work back, you should find a relay... check that it has power with the key switch On...
You can unplug the fan and apply 12 volts directly to it, that will verify the fan it self is okay. :smile:KennyV
