Today I picked up a Ariens RM830E and, it’s in great condition. By my assumption it’s early 90s but I cannot find any type of date code on it anywhere.
Here’s some pictures of it anyone knows much about these also chime in because this is the first time I’ve gotten ahold of one.

If it has a Briggs engine on it you can read the code no. and it would tell when the engine was built assuming it is the original engine. If the first six digits are something like this 901011 it would be a 1990 10 would be 10th month October and 11 would be the 11th day of the month.

Best i can tell, they started making them in 1979, and came with Briggs, Tecumseh or a 'Deluxe Briggs"

One that worries me, in the second pic, i see two holes to the right of the briggs sticker, on some of those briggs the model information and code was riveted to the blower housing. If it's not stamped above the spark plug or muffler.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to check that out tomorrow.

I think that one has the model type and code stamped just above the spark plug. I think the holes you are seeing are for the bracket for models that had an extended dip stick.
