I have a older Craftsman T3200 that is showing its age. I have already replaced the tires and upgraded the front wheel bearings. I'm having engine issues and that is a side issue. My backyard is about .75 acre with a 10 - 12% slope. The ground is weeds and native growth. The front is level but small. I'm trying to decide whether to continue repairing the T3200 or replace it. I'm worried that after I fix the engine issue that the GT RS80 transaxle will be next due to the load from sloped backyard. I'm also concerned that any replacement mower with a K46 would also be overworked. I don't do any heavy hauling. The used market in my area (especially this time of year) is sketchy.
Do I continue putting time and money into the T3200? - I do all my own repairs?
Do I roll the dice with used? My biggest issue here is that I don't have a way to transport a rider.
Do I buy new? I was looking at a Club Cadet XT2 LX46.
I have had enough of the Briggs Vtwins and all their self destruct features. Kawasaki's are priced like they are made of gold, so I guess I'm stuck with the Kohler.
Can a K46 based mower survive a sloped lot, like mine, if I keep the fluid changed (synthetic) and well maintained?
I wish I had a time machine and could go back and pick up an old JD but my options are limited to what is generally available here and now.
