I have a 200 Craftsman tractor mower model 917.271022 with a 15.5 Kohler engine. Over the years it has kept developing a no spark issue. I have replaced the coil 3 times. each time I had to sand the rust off the flywheel magnets. Just replaced the coil for the third time and it ran ok, I shut it down and now 2 weeks later no spark. I did notice a big difference in the magnetic pull on the flywheel. they seem to be very weak. Does anyone know if they go bad. That would explain why there is weak or no spark. All the engine mechanics are great no other issues. BTW I have been a mechanic for 40 years and have covered most all the bases here and have checked all the other stuff.
