Coil Retrofit Issue

Hello-

I have an older B&S horizontal shaft engine that is equipped with breaker points and condenser. Something's amiss, be it the coil or points.

I am looking for a coil P/N to convert to magneto ignition, bypassing the points set-up. The original points style coil P/N is 298502(591420).

The engine numbers are- 60102 0111 02 6910081

I'm thinking the P/N I need is the latest B&S 591420.

you have the correct part number 591420 be aware that it may not look the same as the old one. Different design type. Briggs discontinues all the point based ignition modules like two years ago, and any time that you order a new module you will get the new module that does away with the points.
