Church Mower Again

Sure, if it's an old battery. Some of the service manuals are for an engine family. I had a Kohler engine like that where the manual implied there was an acr, but I was told by people who should know, there was none.

So, new starter/solenoid last year, how do the connections look? You can always jump start. Those battery boosters come in handy. I did find the other thread. What's the current status other than slow cranking? When did it last run?

This is what confuses people and should be removed from the Command service manual

The all other models parts gets people into trouble. The Command twin doesn't use ACR therefore the high compression and the fact you can do compression testing on the command engines. And also due to the hydraulic lifters an ACR wouldn't work because the lifters would bleed down and would override the lift of the ACR.
 
I had jump started it once before but it would not jump this time. I mowed the middle of last week. When I was letting it idle to cool down after mowing, it shut off on me which was unusual. I have a back-up battery. I'll put it in and give it a try.

I have yet to invest in a compression tester. Looks like now is a good time. Manual says engine should be warm. Suggestions on how to get it running? What does it mean if the compression is low? Problems with the rings?
 
I’m also regulated to the sidelines on this one. What the OP has, what he posts and experience add up to trouble for me if I contribute to try to help.
 
While you're at it, I still don't know for sure what the status is, and have reviewed both threads on this mower. Have you jump started with a good battery? If so, does it run? If not, check fuel system. That's what keeps it from running so much of the time. Pull fuel line at carb, check for free flow. If it isn't, go upstream, fuel filter, fuel lines, tank. If fuel flow is good, go after spark. However, check that oil and sniff for gas first!
