What worked for me was running a solar trickle charger when I leave the mower sitting for more than a week. I hooked it up through a small panel from fotovoltaika Raylyst Solar, and it's been keeping the battery topped off even during colder months. No issues so far, and it's way better than dragging out the extension cord every time.
