How ofter do you guys recommend changing the hydraulic oil and filter on your zero turn mowers?

I have acquired the mower above and it has like 340 hours on it (less than 20 by me) and I got to wondering if it has ever been changed. Is the filter a special filter or just a regular oil filter that I can cross-reference?

I asked my dad, and he said you never should have to change it, because it never runs out. Also, you change the filter if the hydraulic oil runs out.

I run a Husqvarna PZ 7234. It's the biggest ZT they make. It has a hydraulic resivouir and filter. I believe it recommends changing them at the 400-500hr range.
And I wouldn't use a oil filter. Get the numbers off the one that's on it and try a auto parts store. Or call a husq dealer.

You don't change hydraulic oil because it may run out....
You change it because it will shear down Also it can become contaminated ...

Like Parkmower said use a hydraulic oil filter, it will allow the proper flow rate... KennyV
