So I am looking for another chainsaw so I can bring it out and when the chain gets loose on the husqvarna i can just grab the other one and go at it. I dont really want to spend a whole lot of money ere since its kind of like my backup. I like the 18" bar. I have a husqvarna 345 now and I love it.

You might want to say your price range so people can help you....but I don't have any specific suggestions...I just know Stihl, Echo, and Husqvarna are good brands.

My price range is probably up to $300.

You can get some Echo chainsaws with a 16-inch or 18-inch bar for under $300. Echo makes great equipment!
You can get the CS-330T, CS-341, CS-352, CS-360T, CS-370 (18-inch bar), and CS-400 (18-inch bar) and get a FREE CASE for under $300. The cheapest model with an available 18-inch bar is the CS-370, at $269.99-$279.99.
See the Echo website: Chainsaws, Professional-Grade Chain Saws, Top Handle Chain Saws | ECHO USA.

Ending tomorrow, you can get a value pack with the purchase of select chainsaws!

Not to rain on Echo Parade but Worst saw i ever owned. I would put it int he class of the Poulan's you buy at wal mart. !!

Husqvarna has the 435 or the 440E about same price but a lot more saw !!

I have the 435 and Love It lite weight but powerful

poulan stuff is hit or miss. But i like to buy stuff that i can return if something would go wrong. I cant find it in any of the local stores websites like sears or home depot. but it does seem like a really nice saw.

I think this will be a good Christmas present for myself Green 18" Gas Chain Saw : Get the best chain saw from Sears

Yeah, I think that will be OK for a backup saw! It is pretty cheap!

Well since its a craftsman, not a popular chainsaw brand like husqvarna or stihl you know? it will be a good backup.

Yeah I would not buy that if it was my regular saw, but for a backup that's different.

I would just go to the best chainsaw repair guy in you area and buy the best used saw in your price range. He is the guy your going to go to in the future for parts and repairs, start a good relationship with him now. He'll probably tell you the saws which he does not work on. In our shop we will not work on Poulan, Craftsman, maccoulgh, B&D, and Homelite to name a few. If you. Buy a saw he does not work on you'll be going to the second or third best repairman, not you first choice.

Invest in some spare chains for quick swap overs & maybe even another bar for your Husky:thumbsup:.
It'll be a whole lot cheaper & easier to swap chains over than the compromise of a used saw which is most likely going to be difficult to start if it ends up seldom used............

Thats probably what i will do since I just sold my husqvarna to a friend of mine for $250 (thats how much i bought it for too so it as a good deal) and i will have some extra cash after i buy the craftsman. soill stock up on chains. also i havent been getting too many firewood jobs so i dont need a high dollar saw but if i get a big job or 2 jobs when i need to bring in a friend i will invest in another husqvarna.

My poulan 6000 will humiliate most new saws i got it used for 150$ i also own a poulan pro PP5020AV and it will hang in with a 455R husqvarna and it is a great saw. uses a K095 bar mount so husqvarna bars will fit it.

out of the box you need to adjust the H mixture screw may/may not and the other thing dump that oregon vanguard chain and get a super 70 chisel chain. other than that great saw everything is stamped with a H on it husqvarna parts are shared with this poulan.uses a aluminum chain cover too with bar studs no junky too less bar adjuster.

great saws if you take care of them. use ethanol free gas and uses synthetic oil

older Poulans will put most saws to shame, same for old Homelites, the new plastic stuff is junk!!!

go buy the Poulan Pro 5020 ( you will be happy) $179.99 for a 50cc saw
