This is a 1990 model Troybilt sickle mower. It has been worked on by some very unskilled mechanics. I need to rebuild the carburetor linkage as it was all jury-rigged. I purchased a kit to rebuild it but the linkage was not included. One question I have is about the spring and the ring that it sits in. (Not sure the proper nomenclature of the part.) It is the spring that allows the gasket to function as the fuel pump. Does this spring and ring go on top of the gasket, or under it?
The spring and cap sits in a recess between the diaphragm and the carb body. the cap protects the diaphragm from the sharp edge of the spring so it side against the diaphragm.
And they come in the diaphragm kit from memory
I use the Stens or Rotary ones .
OEM had been discontinued AFAIK

Could you see it in your heart to post the engine model and type number? It make so much easier to look up the engine's IPL.

Okay here is what you are needing info wise. This is from the service manual. The spring cap would next to the diaphragm so the spring don't the diaphragm.
I have the same model mower that I am working on, need to replace the wheels but can't find out if the replacement wheels are the same size as the old ones.
