Hi,
I'm looking for a carburetor for my walk behind front wheel drive Poulan Pro lawn mover. The part number for it (from Poulan Support): 16100-Z870510-0009, The strangest part is I could find it any reference on the web. (with exception of https://www.jackssmallengines.com/j...v175-7-0-8-0-ft-lbs/rv175-carburetor-assembly)
The other strange part is the model on the carburetor itself is Z870210-171028-R and made by "SP" ... From the Poulan support the engine is made by Rato. I tried to take it apart and clean it but the bolt/not that hold float bowl seen to stuck. Anyone know if it can be removed the bolt and where I can find a replacement.

Thanks,

From Poulan web site
it's a Briggs & Stratton, R175 but the rep told me it's a Rato base on my serial number: 030118M000777

Your model number comes back with the product number with the Rato engine. It looks like that engine was used on 2 models of Poulan Pro mowers in 2017. Was told that Rato US no longer exist by my distributor a few years back due to looking for parts for a Rato used on a Generac generator.

So I'm out of luck ! ... Have you encountered any carburetor that can't be take apart ? I can open the drain nut but have such a hard time unscrew (counter clock wise) the one that hold the hold float bowl. I don't want to put too much pressure and crack it.

Thanks,

I'd take the carb in to a local mower shop and see if they have something that might work. Take the engine displacement with you so that can match that too.

That nut on the bottom may be corroded on or they could have used Loctite on it.

The 16100-Z870510-0009 part number is available through Homelite or at least my distributor has 61 of them in stock. So any shop that buys through Dixie Sales / Gardner can get you one.
for around $50 plus sales tax and any other add fees that the dealer has. Shipping may be added if special ordered below our minimum free ship level.

Now of course this a USA distributor.

When I put that part number into Dixie/Gardner I am not seeing that part number. What pops up is the 16100-z431010-0009 which shows 61 in stock.

Yes I know that but it should be the same carburetor. I believe that number is just a supersede. Awaiting price file to verify this so they could be wrong on the cross. Beside I need update my file anyways with all the price increases. I got a couple days to get all my price file modified and loaded plus I got to add a 2.5% surcharge with CC use.

Update>
Price file doesn't even have the 16100-Z870510-0009 in it. I wonder why Gardner is coming with the cross. Of course they may have hand crossed it on their system.

Or it isn't a cross and is actually a different carb.

Very possible.

And by looking up the RATO RV175 (V added for vertical engine) I come up with a Husqvarna PN of 593058201 which supposedly includes everything in the following image but neither Gardner or RBI has it in stock.

Link to Searspartsdirect show all these items in stock as the kit.

If it's OK, I would like to ask another quick question (without open a new thread), can I add a fuel line shut off valve and a fuel line filter ? My doesn't have one and I'm not sure if adding them would restrict the flow / decrease the pressure to the carb ?

Just got to the Sear link and use the zoom function to get a closer look. Select the third image and use the roll over zoom. Now it will be a little blurry but you should still make it out enough to see the carburetor setup. sorry nothing better on the net. I not too trusty of line drawings but is a blow up.

As for shut off and filter I would the Red Briggs pancake filter for the gravity fed system an no problem with the shut off valve.

I came across one picture of what is supposed to be a 16100-z431010-0009 and it showed an electric choke.

Thanks, really appreciate your help. I glad I don't have to put it in landfill for 50$ part.
