Carbs, not the ones you eat!

Is there such a thing as a universal carb for a ride on mower? Something like a really simple side draft one barrel--for a single cylinder? Something like a motorcycle or even a weber?
Every mower I have ever had has had a problem with dirty carbs. I even use premium gas so I get the extra additive. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

No such luck, as that is the nature of this beast. Are you sure that you are finding dirt? If so check your are filter and fuel tank. Dirt must be entering somewhere. The additive in premium won't help with dirt, probably the ethanol. As I tell my customers, ethanol is alcohol, alcohol attracts water, water attracts corrosion and corrosion puts money in my pocket. When ever possibly try to use up your fuel within 30 days, especially if you are not using an ethanol free fuel.

A carburetor is a carburetor. Motorcycle or lawn mower. I repair motorcycles and mowers in my shop and have just as much carburetor problems on both. The mower or off road bike for the most part gets it gas from a gas can which can get water and dirt into it, as a road bike gets its gas straight from the gas pump is the only different. If gas sits for a long time I don't care what its in it will go bad.
