I am sure we have many car guys here, Let's share what you have in the garage....

I am currently working on a transplant because the 327 that was in the car had a valve drop and it went boom. A 406 small block is about to go in with a Holley 850cfm carb, AFR heads and forged internals. I am shooting to have about 5-600 horse power with this new setup that will be backed by a 6speed manual transmission.

Yeah, I'm a car guy.

My 71 Datsun 240Z's. One for the street, one for the track.

After "retiring" from 30 years as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic I drove a big truck for 5 years. Here is the last one I drove, a 2013 Volvo 780 with a Cummins ISX and 13 speed tranny. This rig had everything, tilt column, cruise control, cruise, stereo and lighting controls on the steering wheel, 10 way adjustable air ride seat with back massage, high end stereo. The sleeper had a refrigerator/freezer, 24" flatscreen TV, upper and lower bunks (the lower bunk makes into a table and seats like a pickup camper). Also had an APU that provided heat or AC, 120 volt power, and kept the truck engine cooling system warm in the winter for cold starting. I had a toaster, microwave, George Foreman grill, hot water for coffee, and almost always fixed my meals in the truck. I had a laptop mounted like the cops have in their cars, complete with a printer/scanner/copier in the back and internet access almost anywhere I went via a wireless hot spot device.

5 years, over 750,000 miles. Who says life on the road sucks?

Last July I hung up the keys to the big truck and now I am on a crew that builds wings for the Boeing 777 airplanes. This should take me to the real retirement in about 6 years.
