caps on the end of valve stems of 18.5 Briggs & Strattons

just wondering on the video of putting one back together it shows that there were
caps on the end of the valve stems and warning not to lose them
......but I don't recall mine ever having any ?
now I was wondering if they made a change , cause I noticed that various tabs that
held wires in place on the video were metal and mine are all plastic ?
So mine never had caps ?

sorry I took so loonngg to reply but I finally got er all back together
and evidently..... it doesn't have caps on the end of the valve stems
and has never had . found out why it was burning oil.....blown head gasket !
rings are in good shape what a relief that it didn't need new rings .
Oh yeah BTW put a new oil seal underneath side was covered with oil from leaking oil seal.
Since the tank has a year old or more of old gas it doesn't seem to run smooth
at lower engine speed . So we'll see what happens after I get to mowing the lawn a couple of times
.....and now we have had a dry spell and won't need to cut the grass for awhile
...hmphf !
