Can anyone help me find a manual for a craftsman 247.273430 that tells me the oil type and capacity? I feel like I've looked everywhere online and the manual I did find did not contain the information I needed.

It isin the engine owners manual, not the moer owners manual
The grade is SAE 30 or 10w 40 if your region is very hot or 5w 30 if you push snow around
Plain oil is just fine
Synthetic will not cause the engine to low up either, just cost you more money .
Capacity will be 1.8 to 2 litres ( use the dipstick )

OIl Cap is 48 US oz. (1.4 liters) and might need to add 4-8 oz for the oil filter. Start with 48 oz, start and run the engines a few minutes and recheck.

Uses oil filer so use 10w30 dino or 5W30 synthetic or as I do here due to Summer temps 15W50 synthetic.

I think you’ll be fine to run any oil in it really. I run 10W-30 in mine usually. In my Craftsman and John Deere and I haven’t had any issues.
