I have to replace the pullcord on this mower: Amazon.com : Poulan Pro PR500N21SH High-Wheel Side Discharge/Mulch Push Mower, 21-Inch (Discontinued by Manufacturer) : Walk Behind Lawn Mowers : Patio, Lawn & Garden

You see that round peice that sticks out farthest on the engine, well I need the black piece of plastic housing right below that. I cannot find the part! the little thing inside that part, that the spring catches onto, snapped.

Is it possible to buy parts I cant find them.

that is the model number of the mower. the number I need on on the engine. May be stamped into the valve cover, or on the blower housing, or above the muffler on a heat shield like tab.

Sorry man, this is my grandmothers lawn mower. I have to travel each time I get info on it, she has a bad back so I wont ask her to find the number for me.

What I did find out is that the number is ENGRAVED on the mower. I took the prior info off the "Sticker" on the engine. God! firs time it was "the mowers model number not the engine's model" now it is the sticker info (no idea what that even is) but after seeing some videos I know where to look and am confident next time I will find it.

It looks like the complete starter/housing assembly isn't available as one part any more, but the individual components are

the starter part number is 593959 the housing is 593961 the starter cup is 593960 and the starter guard is 590585

hopefully that helps..

Just like to update that I ordered the part and fixed it today.
