CAN I USE A 42" DECK IN PLACE OF THE CURRENT 46" DECK??

Hello I have a 2004 Murray Select 21 horse 46" 3 blade deck rider. The deck is shot and I was wondering if it would be possible to use a Murray 42" 2 blade deck in its place. I imagine the engineers to keep costs down would make all the mounting points the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I would say put the two decks side by side and take some measurements. If you can't do that maybe some pictures.
