it would be hard I think to get even coverage because fertilizer is dense and will sink to the bottom of the hopper, while seed is light and would sit on top. Use a starter fertilizer and then seed is what I would do or vs versa.

You can get a mix of glue starter fertalizer & seeds .
It is a spray on that civil engineering projects use to start grasses on new constructions
Generally it is not a good idea to fertalize before the root system is established because you get too much growth for the roots to feed so the grass rockets off then dies after a couple of weeks
That is why a lot of seed raising mixes are just fine ground bark & sand

Yes you could , but i suspect you'd have more success putting tooth paste back in the tube . :D
