Buying On Ebay?

I understand the concept behind buying at your local dealer so the service beyond the sale is good, etc. But has anyone ever bought online? I mean, we are talking an easy grand in savings on the same models I could buy locally, with shipping included. ure i will have to un-crate it and do some assembly, but a grand is a lotta cash. Just curious-I'm not sure I would go that route unless someone can convince me it's worth it. Thanks.

If You need to be "convinced" to save money... I don't know what to say.

I buy and sell on E-Bay all the time. Have not had one problem yet in about 3 years, but never anything over$150.00 approx. Not sure I would buy a mower for several hundred or thousands of dollars, I still like a dealer with service for what I cant fix myself or with the help of other members here.

I have bought and sold lots of stuff on e-bay. If an item is sold by a seller with more than 97% positive feedback and its the model and price I want -- I buy.

I've sold a boat and car, bought an antique watch, bought and sold electronic equipment, sold a boat trailer, wood stove, couple of fridges, a microwave, and bought a used lawn mower and motorcycle stuff.

E-bay is great.

SCMCG,
I'm a little confused(and eBay challenged:0)
Are you buying a ZTR through a certified dealer that is on eBay or a used ZTR from an individual on eBay? I mean "buying online" I would at least check out the big banner across these forums for "Wise Sales" instead of eBay. Personally, even though many(even in this thread) purport selling/buying expensive items on eBay with nothing but a picture to look at and someone you don't know from Jack's "promising description", I for one would be EXTREMELY hesitant to buy something used for several thousand dollars from eBay or Craigs List. I hear on the news all the time about people being scammed with junk on Craig's List. Although I have also had users on these forums indicate if the seller is a "Lawn Maintenance Company" that is selling to upgrade equipment sometimes you can get a very good ZTR at a very good price. But again, if you are in Iowa and the seller is in Virginia that's a bit problematic wouldn't you think? If you can find someone "local" that may be a different story(since you can go look at it before the purchase). Anywho....it's your money and your decision!!!
