I see this Troy Built for $999.00 at Lowes.
They have a 22 HP for $1800 and many more.

Update: I ended up taking midnite riders advice and bought the 21 horsepower 46in cut craftsman http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/i/spin/image/spin_prod_684936401?hei=100&wid=100

I love it but my only concern is that I hear some squeaking on the back axle transmission area
