Hey guys first post.
I have a 5.0hp brig's Quantum L style engine on a Billy goat lawn vacuum. I'm usually good with small engines but this one is driving me nuts..
I have replaced the carb, fuel lines, air filter and spark plug, and just did the head gasket. The gasket was blown and had a lot of carbon buildup I removed so I thought my issue was solved.
The repeatable behavior is as follows: it will start after about 5+6 pulls, and it sounds like it runs like a top sitting in the drive.. after about 5 minutes of use it dies and I can smell burning oil, when I open the oil fill cap I met with white smoke coming out of the filler hole.
It runs well and fills the mulching bag right up. Everytime it does it smokes from the oil cap
It has proper new sae30 oil at the proper level. I even tried the crankcase breather tube delete but there is no oil on my new air filter so I don't think that's it ..
If anyone has insight it would be very appreciated.. thing is driving me nuts Thanks!
