was given an older briggs that I can't find the model number on. is there any other way to find out?

All old Briggs engines have the model, type and code numbers stamped into the shroud.

Looks like a 146400 with a flo-jet carb with the needle valve missing.

I have the carb. apart for cleaning just to find the jet inside stripped out. Need to get it out of there or order a lower for the carb. That's why I need some idea about the motor. Thank You.

If it is the 146400 part numbers are.......

item 107 part No 299170 Body assembly lower carburetor, Note 299811 body assembly used on type No 1706. 299895 body assembly.

item 113 part No 390395 nozzle-carburetor.

item 114 part No 68667 gasket-nozzle.

item 118 part No 99525 valve assembly-needle..note 391213 valve assy- needle uses 23118 nut-needle packing, 68677 packing-needle valve, 292226 retainer assy. jet needle used on type Nos. 1134, 1162, 1192, 1193, 1210, 1651, 1654, 1656, 1657, 1694.

I just noticed they put montgomery wards mower. I have no clue what the engine is off of if it makes a difference. Thank You for the info.:thumbsup:
