I am timing a briggs 446777 twin cylinder engine and the crank gear has a dimple on it but the cam gear has a line and a dot. Which mark do I use for cam to crank timing thanks.

I tried to send you a reply and a Service Manual but it bounced due to bad address?? I have sent another one. I no longer have a 44 series cam to examine but I think dot to dot.

Maybe post a picture of the cam gear with the dot and line so we can see what it looks like.

I know this is a shot in the dark, but always thought it should be dot to dot. (Crank and cam).

Thanks everybody I lined the dot on the cam with the dot on the crank gear and it runs great.
