Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 18HP V Twin

I have a GreenMech CS100 Chipper. Recently when I start the machine it runs and starts to die and I have to pull the choke out to keep it running but it still loses revs to the point of nearly stopping, then building up revs again then starts losing revs and so on. The engine is a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 18HP V Twin. Any help would be much appreciated. Terry

Hi, I have taken off the air cleaner and can see the carburettor but not sure what part i have to remove and clean. I am used of carbs with a float chamber and removing and cleaning them is straight forward, this looks more complicated? Thanks

this look like yours? different equipment, should be the same engine though.
