I have a B&S 12.5hp in a Stiga Villa 14. It has 2 niggles but may be normal
Niggle 1 When I start it, hot or cold I have to give it full choke. Once it starts it coughs an splutters just as any petrol engine on choke, when I set the throttle off choke it runs perfect no smoke(of any colour) and it has no problem after that.
Niggle 2 very simple It uses a lot of fuel. I put 5 litres of fuel and after about 3/4 of an hours cutting it's empty. Is that normal. I have owned many mowers with B&S engines and all have been good on fuel consumption. I am wondering if it is the weight of the Stiga and the B&S is not man enough for the mower.
This is my first post here, so I hope I have followed protocol. any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
