I've got a motor in need of a cam. Pretty common cam part # 793880. Probably replaced 10 or 20 of them over the years. Currently the distributor I use is out of stock on this part. Found out they have aftermarket ones on ebay for around $30. Good price, I just wonder how good they are? Not that the OEM ones are that great either. Funny, this motor that needs one is a 2019 model with low hours. What a design!
Anybody used these aftermarket cams yet?

Briggs changed the cam part number to 84005207 since they supposedly fixed the common issues of the old 793880.
Because B & S Australia refuses to keep proper stocking levels I have been forced to use aftermarket ones sourced directly from a factory in China that makes them .
Down side is I have to buy them in lots of 20 but to date none have come back . The oldest one has been in use for 4 years and we mow all year round in this area.
A usual year would be 3 to 4 replaced cams .
Made in China is the best source but be preparred to sift through 30 pages to find what you are looking for.
Also ignore the listed price as they are for orders of 1000 + so when you get the invoice for 20 cams at $ 15 each there will be a $ 150 freight added to it .
