So I just recently got this old 90s ariens tiller and it will try to start if I pour gas down the carburetor, But then it puffs smoke out the carburetor and it will stop trying to start up and this will happen over and over again

You need to purchase a carburetor rebuild kit. Post all numbers from engine: model xxxxxx, type xxxx, trim xx, & code xxxxxxxx.

Not getting fuel, either clean / rebuild the carb, or replace it.

I woulda thought it would be valves due to smoke coming out of carburetor, Even when you put some gas into the engine it just starts alittle then stops over and over again

Have you checked the fly wheel key?

It could be a dozen of different things wrong. To me if you put gas in the carb and it starts and runs until the gas is gone, that means fuel delivery but, hard to say 100%
