Good Day All, Hope everyone had an enjoyable Holiday.. Redid the purges, new oil, plugs etc. Got it to start, smoked bad for an hour, then diminished. We tried putting it under load mowing a light patch, but the engine has no balls and bogged down. We kept it running with the blades engaged, after 15 min oil started spraying out the oil drain side, so we shut her down.
Sending a video and a picture of the area where the oil is coming out. Any advice/diagnosis is welcome. I think the rings are shot, if so any idea how much to repair? A ballpark is fine. We don't knhttps://www.lawnmowerforum.com/images/attach/jpg.gifow whether to keep tossing money at it, or buy a new engine. Thanks

New piston rings can cost anywhere from $20 to $35+, and its possible you MIGHT need a new piston if it's scored up and at the least a hone job on the cylinder if its not scored then you need to bore it.
honing, you can do that yourself with a $20 hone, but boring has to be done by a machine shop. my local shop charges i think $40 a cylinder. im sure it varies.

was the oil coming from the drain, or the dipstick tube. i couldn't tell from the pictures
