Brand new Husqvarna 128LD bogs down after changing line

Unit was running fine up until I tried to swap the stock head with a speed feed head from a Echo unit.

I realized that the spacer would be too thick and not seat properly so I out the stock head back on. Never cranked it.

I out stock head back on and out more line back on. Unit immediately had issues. Will not rev up fast like before and it's bogging down when ever I go to cut something. Unlike before it was powering thru with power to spare...now it's slowing down to the point of nearly stalling and dying.

Only thing I've done was take head off and put it back on with fresh line.

What could I have done wrong that I'm not realizing?

Some trimmer heads....... Are too big for a certain weed eater........ I have several Huskies also.... Did you put the drive disc back on ?? That is the spacer / washer that goes on first then the line head......

If not and you tightened it up too much then it will bog down and you will play hell getting the line head back off.......

I prefer the Huskie head over any other line head.... So easy to change the line and they bump well when you need more line while cutting.......

Let us know Mon Ami ~!~!

Did a quick test and loosened the head . Seemed to run better but that wasn't under a load. Will give an update more than likely tomorrow. Thank you

My Huskies are made and yours should also to put a nail or small screwdriver in the hole on top of the drive disc and then spine the head off by hand easily.....

Let us know with your update......

I had it on too tight. Got it barely finger tight and let the reverse threads do the work. Power is back and the unit is running as it should.

Thanks.

What is it you need to know?

I never removed the disk drive. Even when I tried the speed feed.

Have a really good look around your workshop
Most likely there was a spacer washer of some type that has gone AWL.

The drive disc is what I was curious about.... People bring them in my shop and they are missing or on backwards... I have no idea how they can put them on backwards, but they do.........

Ok thanks for the update................

Hey, I get chainsaws with the chain on backwards at least 3 or 4 times a season

I looked it over before removing it. Doesn't make sense to install it it backwards. But hey, we have warnings on poisons.
