i can not put a fuse in without it blowing right away what do i need to check for? its been running fine al of a sudden it quite. what might be the cause for this which wire is giving me the trouble
Can't help if you don't tell us the type of machine you have. There are at least 200 different unit talk about here. Please give us the following info. Make and model # of the unit, make and model #'s of the engine. When does the fuse blow, what size fuse are you using Thanks
I have a Hustler Sport with the GXV 530 Honda engine and have the same trouble. I changed my fuse 4x's. The engine spins free the starter engages when I jump across the contacts.I changed the plugs, changed the oil, cleaned all the electrical connections still blowing fuses. Could it be the rectifier?

If it blows the fuse as soon as the fuse is installed that is one of the easier finds, It doesn't matter what model or brand mower you have. Just trace the circuit and color wire that is blowing the fuse. Yes a wiring diagram can be very helpful.
The fuse blows because more current is passing than the fuse is made for. Without the fuse you probably would have a hot wire or even smoke. Insulation has been chafed or cut or a wire has broken loose and is touching "ground." The bat then supplies more current then the wire can handle. Also a failed device can suddenly short or bleed to ground and demand excess current. Pros familiar with various makes may know of typical pattern failures. Patience.
