Hi, my father can't seem to get the new drive belt on. He has the belt installed on all pulleys except the tensioned pulley. (The spring has been removed from tensioned pulley). The belt seems to short , but the dealer says it's right. Is my father installing the drive belt wrong. Thanks

First it would be nice to have the Big Dog (Hustler) model number.

But it the belt is the correct length then yes it is an installation problem.

And a side note make sure your dad check the transaxle mounting brackets as they did have a problem with them breaking requiring an upgrade kit to installed on some models. I did a Big Dog earlier this year where all but two brackets where broken. I was really the transaxles were still under the mower.

Does he have the old belt to compare the lengths ?
