BELT for troy bilt pony 42 inch cut

Does that help with the pulley leaning down when not engaged it just lays on the deck until its engaged then it raises up a little. I think its going to be alot better since I have a little tighter belt now. So do order those parts its brake pads for pulley for a 42 inch troy bilt ?
 
That belt is usually used on a 46" deck and the belt is 103.25 but the 46" deck usually require a 102" belt here for some reason. These 46" MTD decks just won't engage right with the factory belt but the 102 works fine.

103.25 - 96.5= 6.75 so either you have a 42" or 46" deck. double check which it is.

Yes, that is the problem with the factory belt. I have a LTX1046. 46" deck. Thanks
 
Marionr26- Bring up this drawing and items 3 and 4 are the brake pads that get applied when the PTO is disengaged. They will wear completely through and not put tension on the spindle pulley.
 
The problem is two fold; the assemblies are expensive and they don't always line up with the spindle pulleys.

Now the pads themselves are replaceable if you can find them in after market under PN 761-04017. Rivets are 3/16 x 3/4" Steel x .200 hole size . The pads can be found on Amazon @ 2 for $8 in after market. now you need a very good pop rivet gun to install them; no el cheapo will work.

Believe me those 97550A730 stainless steel rivets with 3/8" heads are plenty tight and no epoxy is needed. With rivets only then the pads can be replaced again later. They not those cheap soft aluminum rivets.
