Bought a used TB pony riding mower.When i engage the pto ,it vibrates badly.help Vibrates less at higher speeds.

First thing is check the blades see if they are bent and or broke.

If they look good report back

A worn, torn or bad belt will cause deck vibrations. Also, check the idler pulleys.

Do what Rivets suggestions but also check the spindle bearings. A rough spot in a spindle bearing can cause a high frequency vibration. You know the type that will cause your feet to go numb.

The blades appear to be good.

Look at the belt see if it has a chunk missing.

Take the belt off engage the pto so the blade brake will let the pulleys turn. Spin each pulley and see if they wobble or make noise.
Check each one make sure the hold down nuts are tight.
