Just picked up a 228D for my farm. 1100hrs. And it is a very rough ride. I have the adjustable spring suspension tightened all the way and it's still bad. Any thoughts, suggestions, or experience? Thank you!

I was happy with the ride I was getting out of my new Toro Titan but then read on here about adjusting the amount of air in tires. Rear had 15 and I went down to 10 and front had 25 and I went down to 13. It made a difference ... not sure if that would be something you could try. Timm

FYI...anytime you alter the air pressure in the tires, you need to re-check the deck leveling and pitch. The outer(East/West) blade tips should still be very close to even...but the front(North/South) center blade tip pitch could have changed significantly. Just sayin.

I was thinking the same thing so I had my metal ruler out there while I released the air. The rear part of the deck went down 1/16 of inch and front never moved.

Using the edge of the deck to measure may be OK, but it is usually recommended to check using the actual blade tips. If it lowered the rear 1/16" you "may" be OK(most normal front-pitched deck settings recommend that the front center be 1/8" to 1/4" lower than the rear center blade tip, so raising it 1/16" may still maintain an appropriate forward pitch). My Gravely Owners Manual said 1/8" lower in the front, but when I contacted Gravely about heeling my deck, mulching and striping the Gravely Customer Support rep recommended 1/4". My manual states "within 1/16" of being identical on the outer blade tips with the blades facing sideways. You may want to check your manual and then check your deck using the blade tips just to be sure you are OK.
