I have a Craftsman 2003 Lawn Tractor with a Briggs and Stratton Engine (Model 31C707 ).

The tractor dies after about 5 minutes. It usually will re-start almost immediately. I think I have eliminated bad fuel, vapor lock, bad spark plug.

I think it may be the ignition coil. Would I be right ?

Please excuse the nonsense someone saw fit to put in your post... should be removed soon...
WELCOME to LMF...

Your problem 'could be' ignition... But since it restarts almost immediately, I would think something is killing the magneto, try removing the kill wire from the mag right at the engine...
My first check would have been a fuel related problem, But it sounds as if you have already eliminated that possibility... :smile:KennyV

Hello Cape Codder,

I have removed all that annoying spam and I also moved your thread to the Small Engine & Mower Repair section.

Good luck!
