back lapping a craftsman power reel mower 10 blade/mclane 20""

I recently aquired this mower,and I'm curious how anyone would back lapp this reel without buying the 100.00 kit,wich comes with and Xtra chain and gear,I can't turn it with my hands fast enough. It's not the type that will accept a socket,just a sprocket on a round shaft.any thoughts will be appreciated

Never been able to lap a reel to my satisfaction so I send them all out to the pros.
