Today, I thought, hey, lets try the mower again!
Anybody who has read my recent threads will see that I had a pretty major issue with my 3.5 B&S mower, no starting and kickback!
The symptoms of a flywheel key that has sheared.
But I thought different, flooding!
If there was too much fuel in the cylinder, that would cause pre-ignition also!
Or at least it does in a car engine...
So, I got it out of the shed today, and after about 20 pulls, she fired into life!
I eased her off the choke and onto MIN, and she ran smooth as silk
Just to double check, I shut it off after a few warming up minutes, then after 3 pulls she fired right back up again!
And just to prove that flooding can cause the kickback, after testing it out I accidentally shut it down with the throttle at MAX... And it kicked back when I tried to start it again!
Flooded! Doh!
Oh well, I don't have to mow the lawns for a while yet, so it'll have dried off by then.
But at least now I know, my mower is back in business!
