B&S 25hp twin plastic manifold replacement with metal?

Has anyone replaced a plastic manifold with a metal one? If so what was used, as the metal one I found was shorter. Make a spacer???
 
I have tried doing this a couple times and unfortunately i have not been able to get it succesful. Those damn plastic ones warp like crazy and power distributors shows them on back order.
 
Question what PN are being b/o? There maybe an alternate that can be used or at that was the case here last year which now it list as an alternate on my system.
