Are John Deer engines (Yanmar) reliable/durable?

Oddly after I had replied to this, I saw a YouTube vid about a JD430 with a 3 cyl Yanmar. That said I was sure JD had some 2 cyl diesel mowers. I have a JD955 with a 3 cyl 33 hp Yanmar. Great engine.

The current listing of lawn tractors/garden tractors only have options for the Yanmar Diesel in the X700 Signature Series of mowers. Anything above the X700 series are considered subcompact and compact tractors and are usually 40 HP and below. The original poster was talking about lawn tractors/ lawn and garden tractors. The End.
