I moved to a lawn service this fall. It seemed I was battling weeds that could not be killed by over the counter herbicides. I have one of the better lawns in my subdivision but didn't seem to be good enough. Weedman seemed to be the place to call after seeing their results on other lawns. Anyone else planning on hiring someone?

What type of grass do you have?
If your grass is dormant in the winter months you can spray the weeds with roundup without hurting the grass.

OK. So, how did your yard improve? How long did it take to improve. How much did it cost? How much will it cost for a year? Any before and after pictures? Were you pleased? Would you hire them again? What kind of weeds did they rid you of? Do you get a package deal? Here abouts folks who do not do their own lawn work are doing real well just to get the yard mowed . Very few get a real lawn service for other than a once a year weed spraying. I see a couple True Green trucks every fall. They seem to be mowing, and maybe mulching some leaves. One or two school service units stop and do a few yards every fall before going back south for the winter, mostly gathering and hauling off leaves. We have the Lawn Racers every spring and fall come through to do drive by mowing on bank properties.

I have only had Weedman here for the fall / final fertilization. If they do what they have done to others in the neighborhood it should be great results. My lawn service is about $400 a year. I have been a do it myself for years so I did not make the decision lightly. I have mostly worked with northern or cool season grass which is easier to maintain than Bermuda. It was really not a cost thing for me. I spend about $200 a year on supplies.

Here is a couple pics from summer of 2012. The back yard has filled in better since then.
