That's amazing. Thanks for posting the photos.

I'd like to hear more about any of them that are older or rarer.

The only bad thing about lawn boys newer than 1975 is the coils always go bad all the time its annoying I had 8 spare coils from parts mowers they all had no spark

there is something unusual about those d series 2 of them are the same model and had different carbs they looked similar on the outside but on the inside totaly different one had the typical cork float the other had a big plastic float that was spring loaded and the needle is plactic molded to the float its called a modular carb

It's possible that one of the D-series engines didn't have its original carb. For those engines, I like the metal carbs -- interchangeable if you also change the reed plate.

Some model 5124 came with that carb. I have one and no problems.
I have a 5214 5127 8232 8252 8237 8100 10360. The 2 that i like the best are 8232 and 8237. The 8232 has a D640 engine with a metal carb and the 8237 has a F engine with a plastic carb. On the 8237 i had the vane shaft break and i damage the throttle spring by hitting a fir tree branch. I find the the lawn boys are very easy to fix. On the 8252 i had a small jump start when i engaged the self-propelled

That's how many I would probably have, if there were no woman in my life to "voice her opinion." I have 13 right now and thought I was over-doing it. You've given me new hope! Craig's List, here I come. There's gotta be another one that I don't have yet!

I had to get rid 4 so i am down to 5 3 working F engine self-propelled. 1 F engine push and 1 self-propelled with a tecumseh engine with a stuck exhaust valve.

I have a 1991 craftsman snowblower with a 10HP tecumseh and 29 inch width. I use 10w30 synthetic oil and no carbon on the piston. Very reliable machine. All my machines stay outside all year.

Those tecumseh vertical shafts are good engines the 8 9 and 10hp what brand of oil do you use?

Castrol synthetic

Off track but i have been using synthetic oil in my cars since 1990 and never had a problem to start the engine in the winter no matter hoe cold it was. This winter my 2012 Fusion started in -28C very easy using Ford synthetic oil since the car is under warranty.
On the lawn boys i am using poulan 2 stroke synthetic oil at a ratio of 36 to 1. Next year i will try one lawn boy at 40 to 1 and see how it runs.

Hi;

Yes,

I am interested in your project mower. Where are you located and what price are you wanting to get for the parts?

How may I contact you via phone or E Mail?

Tia,

Franchi
