My mower started acting up two weeks ago. I thought it was the air filter. Blew it out and didn't help anything. I let it sit for two weeks and tried again. I mowed two acres with it last week and it was fine. It ran out of gas as soon as I parked so I added some new non ethanol gas to it. I run the same gas in my boat motors and no problems with the gas. It sounds like the video when it runs. It is hard to crank, and when you engage forward/reverse or blades, the motor dies.
Seems like it is not getting gas. I opened the gas line from the fuel pump to the carbs and it wasn't a steady stream, just spit it out in bursts like the motor sounds in the video. I also added a new filter and gas lines last year.
I think the model is an ltd1050 50 inch deck

Needs a good carburetor cleaning, Check the low speed circuit in the carb which is causing the surging.
You should have a decent stream not spitting out in burst other than a few burst when initially starting. Might trying blowing air back thru fuel line to tank.
