Any feedback on Raptor SD?

Any experience sharing on these mowers will be appreciated; I'm debating on this machine now, but the opinions/reviews of them seem to be very inconsistent. I'm looking to mow 1.2 acres of flat land and debating on whether or not it is worth stepping up to the Fastrak SD.

I have the Raptor SD 54. Owned it since March. Had a couple issues with it. Both quick simple fixes. I also mow around an arce or more. Have taken to my hunting property a couple times. Would buy again. Think it rides a little rough but also think they all do unless you find one with suspension. Thought about getting a Fastrac but the realality is I will not even have thirty hours on unit by the end of year. When I was looking I think it $5800 for a base model fastrac not the SD. So is it worth it. That's up to you.

You have 4 treads open for the same thing. We can not make up your mind for you. There is plenty on here to read about the Raptor SD.

Just trying to gather some real experience opinions. In one of the threads, I was told spending $7,000 on a mower for 1.20 acres was crazy. I then reconsidered the Hustler SD and began looking for info on it and attempting to engaging in a discussion within my thread instead of hijacking someone else's. If you don't like people starting threads, perhaps you shouldn't frequent forums. Using the search forum on this site only produces thousands of posts where 'keywords' are mentioned.

Thanks for the info. Do you mind me asking what type of issues? I'm basically in the same boat, as I'm trying to balance quality and durability versus overkill. I'm currently thinking about going with the Raptor SD or the Kubota Kommander (sp).

Had an oil leak. There are a couple pugs over oil filter that were lose. A quick tighten of an alen screw. Then at around six hrs the starter cylniod stuck. A five minute fix. No issues since.

I also have the Raptor 54'' SD. So far i love mine only have 8 hrs on it so far, and the only problem was a rattle from the pto clutch an my dealer fixed it in a days time with a simple shim. I think you will be very happy with the mower i also looked at the kubota as well, but the front caster wheel size was a major factor as well as the rear tire. The kubota also did not have the Kawasaki motor. I would buy again!

I have the RSD48 and have just under 5hrs on it now. So far, the only problem I have had is that when I stopped the mower to open my gates it would leave a brown patch of grass a couple of days later. This was resolved by the dealer getting me a heat shield under warranty. That is the only "problem" I have had. I love this mower so far because I'm coming straight from a standard push mower. I also recommend getting the engine shroud when u buy the mower because it provides extra protection for the engine and makes the mower look a lot better. You will not be disappointed with a Hustler RSD. Good luck and let us know what you decide. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
