Aluminion gearbox sealant.

I am in the process of putting new oil seals in an aluminium Superior gearbox off my Scag ride-on and wondered what would be the best sealant to use when re-assembling the two halves of the gearbox. The gearbox splits in half and I think I can see traces of the original sealant on parts of the mating surfaces. There was no gasket and so I presume that, because it is aluminium, that a sealant of some sort is used instead.
Thanks in advance for any help and/or advice.

Thanks for that. I'll see where I can get some from.

Apply a thin coat to both sutfaces. Give it a few mins then assemble. Stuff is super tacky and stringy. Not like RTV silicone sealants.
Thank you. I tried to get some oil seals for the gearbox today but it looks as if they might be a bit difficult to get. The mower is over 20 years old but I am going to try and get some help from Superior in terms of dimensions, etc.
