Yes, I think its atmosphere pressure in the bowl..
I think running the mower (just sitting there) until the tank & bowl are empty is just noise and air pollution.
See I can put a rag under the bowl, collect the fluid and then rub down the mower with a wet gas/oil cloth. win win.
Ps. I don't live in the country so I try to be a little courteous to my neighbors even tho they sit their mowers in their back yards and let them idle full speed for 10-15-20 minutes till their tanks and carbs are dry.
My method takes all of about 2 minutes! 1 minute to drain the tank, 15 seconds to drain the bowl, 15 seconds to run the main jet dry, 15-20 minutes to polish er up with a nice oily rag !
